Editorial Policy
Independence
The Crescent Current operates independently of any political party, developer interest, or advertiser. Editorial decisions — what we cover, how we cover it, what we publish — are made solely by the editorial team. No advertiser or sponsor has any right to influence or review editorial content.
Accuracy
We make every effort to verify facts before publication. Stories involving serious claims are reviewed by more than one editor. When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted directly on the article.
Fairness
Subjects of critical or investigative stories are given a reasonable opportunity to respond before publication. We report what is on the record. When sources request anonymity, we consider the request carefully and disclose the reason for anonymity to readers wherever possible.
Conflict of Interest
Editorial staff are not permitted to cover stories in which they have a personal or financial interest. Sponsored or promotional content, if published, is clearly labelled as such and is never presented as editorial journalism.
Community Standards
We do not publish content that is defamatory, hateful, or in violation of Canadian law. Comment sections and letters to the editor are moderated. We reserve the right to decline any submission without explanation.
Corrections & Complaints
Factual corrections and editorial complaints should be directed to editor@crescentcurrent.ca. We respond to all correction requests. Our commitment to accuracy means we take every complaint seriously.
